72HRS Film Series is the largest online timed Pan African Film competition with a broad vision of unveiling African films made in Africa. It gives Africa filmmakers a platform to unlock their potential by pushing their limits to create a short film within a timed duration of 72HRS and chosen film category.
HOW IT WORKS
Kenya is the first African country to premier the competition. 72Hrs Film Series is not about the competition but a platform to empower filmmakers the change the world with their untold inspiring stories. Also an avenue for all participants to be trained trained by our international panel of judges and professional during the master class workshop set for all participants before the challenge .
Film master class workshop is scheduled for 19th October. Registration of participants starts on 17th September and ends 18th October 2018 after which the voting process from the public/wild cats jury starts. Below is a detailed table of our timeline of 72Hrs Film Series Kenya Edition

SHORT FILM
Original 5 Minutes short film of any genre produced within 72hrs.
DOCUMENTARY
Original 3 minutes documentary film produced within 72hrs.
CINEMATOGRAPHY
(SILENT/ STOP MOTION FILM)
Special category of a 3 minutes original silent film that shows the techniques used to bring static objects to life onscreen produced within 72hrs.
MUSICAL VIDEO
Original 2 minutes music video that integrates a song with images produces within 72hrs.
RULES
BASIC RULES OF PARTICIPATION
1.) The competition is only for to filmmakers residing in Kenya and above 18 years of age and call of entry of registration ends on the 18th October 2018.
2.) Each participant must fill the registration form provided on the website and pay a non-refundable registration fee of KSHS 500 via MPESA, PAYBILL NO. 510800 Account name, KENYA FILM SERIES.
3.) The participant MUST read and comply to the entire rules of participation document provided below.
4.) The participant must choose one category to compete in either short film, documentary, music video and cinematography.
All submitted films MUST be original and produced during 72HRS film Series Kenya Edition 2018.
JURY
72Hrs film series was founded to change the way films are produced,developed,marketed and converted into a profitable business.
72Hrs Film Series 2018 is equipped with International and Kenyan professional team of judges who are well conversant with film production,scripting,music video and acting. The judges will not only judge the films but also guide the participants on how to produce a unique excellent short film that will be saleable to various film markets and VOD's platform.
